Every spring and every fall I like to add new colors to my makeup bag of tricks. A new blush or perhaps a killer color for the lips, yes please! So when BlogHer asked if I would like to review a handful of Mary Kay products I was like, "Send them my way ladies!"

I was a little concerned about the bright shade of lipstick and the purple and silver eye color. I tend to shy away from color and stick to my boring neutrals. I feel like I can pull off a colored gloss, but lipstick always feels foreign on me. As a gal who likes to try new things, I knew this would be fun. The brushes came out and the makeup went on.
I will say that I always use drugstore mascara. I have never found one worthy of a pricey purchase. But Mary Kay pulled out the big guns and surprised me with the Lash Love Mascara. Awesome flexible wand. No clumps. Glides on smoothly, and I actually think my lashes looked longer. I am a convert now. The mineral eye colors were a big hit too. Depending on the mood, you can add just a touch or really go all out and saturate your lid. And I think I have found my new favorite cheek color. It looks pretty stellar on my skin tone. Oh and the lipstick --- so fun! My boys always comment when I wear color on my lips. They gave me two thumbs up. I was a little apprehensive it might go on too bright, but the pink was just the perfect shade of fun.
I am a big believer in getting ready each day. I almost always add a touch of makeup whether I am relaxing with the boys at home or running around town. I feel better when I look better. And I am excited to have found a few new favorites to help me achieve a fantastic fall look.
